Why do we need to pray if God knows all our thoughts anyway?

 

Well, the simple answer is...we're commanded to – Ephesians 6:18 - Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

But if you're asking about the reasons why – you could put it into two main reasons which are seen in the Lord's prayer (Matthew 6:9-13):

1) That we'd daily place ourselves under God's authority – remembering that it's all about His name, His Kingdom and His Will, not ours!

2) That we'd be able to ask our loving Heavenly Father for all we need, because he promises to give it to us.
